Town of Fossacesia
Fossacesia is an Italian town of 6,184 inhabitants in the province of Chieti in Abruzzo, a famous seaside resort especially for the people of Lancaster and the municipalities of the interior. Fossacesia is located on a coastal strip to the left of the mouth of the Sangro River, about 2 km from the coast. The municipal territory is intensely cultivated, covers 30.08 km ² from the coast, along the plain of the river Sangro, up the hill towards Lancaster.
The village of Marina Fossacesia, however, extends along the coast, protected from the small bay called the Gulf of Venus. "The beaches are made up, almost entirely, with white pebbles. To the south, towards the mouth of the Sangro, the coast becomes low, and for small areas, there are also sand dunes. To the north is the rocky coast of Punta Seahorse, punctuated by the typical overflow, the old structures stretched out on the sea for fishing.

Fountains
The Fountain of Five Cannelle, 1888.
The Fountain of Venus, the Roman fountain that still exists under the wall of the Abbey of San Giovanni in Venere, which, according to pagan tradition to exist until the mid 1900's, women wishing to conceive a child went to draw water. Today the source is in a state of extreme deterioration. The laundry. It consists of two rectangular basins adjacent stone, one shorter than the first. Currently, the smallest pool is not directly visible from the road closed because of a structure of brick and concrete and accessible by a staircase [1]
Churches
The Abbey of San Giovanni in Venere.
The church of San Donato was built in 1905 [2], rebuilt after the bombing during the Second World War.
The church of Santa Maria delle Grotte. The church was built in the II nd half of the thirteenth century Cistercian-Gothic structures. The interior is decorated with frescoes by the French style of the period of the founding of the church, the other, Tuscan-style of Giotto are the late fourteenth and fifteenth century [3].
The Church of the Most Holy Rosary, built in 1876.
The church of San Silvestro, based in Villa Scorciosa in the eleventh century. On August 29, 2009 was reconsideredcrata e riaperta al pubblico.[4] La facciata principale è romanica. Sopra il portale vi è un arco a sesto acuto. Sopra ancora vi è una finestrella ad oblò. All'angolo a destra della facciata, sul tetto, vi è il campanile a vela.
